About the Initiative
A new polis demands
new thinking.
An independent, non-partisan research platform publishing short, rigorous papers on the questions that shape our shared public life — for students, graduates, and engaged citizens alike.
Mission
The Polis Nova Initiative is an independent research platform founded in 2026 to address the defining questions of our time with clarity, rigor, and brevity.
We publish short papers — typically two pages — each focused on a single, specific question rather than a broad topic. Our conviction is that intellectual progress begins with the discipline of asking the right question precisely, and answering it without excess. We write for an educated, curious readership: students, graduates, and citizens who seek substance without jargon.
Method
Every paper follows a consistent structure: a precise question, a concise argument, and a clear conclusion. We draw on primary sources, empirical data, and rigorous reasoning — and we cite our work. Our five research domains reflect the pillars of public life:
Economy
Markets, labour, and the material foundations of society.
Legal Status
Rights, institutions, and the architecture of law.
Culture-Politics
The ideas, identities, and narratives that move publics.
International Affairs
Power, order, and relations between states.
Security
Threats, defence, and the conditions of safety.
Vision
We believe that serious research, made accessible, can change how a generation understands its world.
The Polis Nova Initiative is not a think-tank in the conventional sense. We do not lobby, we do not campaign, and we do not seek to tell readers what to think. We seek only to equip them with the clearest possible answer to a well-posed question — and to let the argument stand on its merits.
